For four years, the Trump administration led with an America First energy agenda, prioritizing domestic production, lowering costs for families, and providing a source of economic strength.

During those years, we became the world’s top energy producer, gasoline prices were low, and the United States achieved a level of energy independence that strengthened our economy and national security. Under President Trump, America was a net energy exporter for the first time in decades.

His administration cut regulations, expanded oil and gas leases, and pushed domestic energy projects that created jobs and ensured the affordability of fuel, electricity, and everyday goods.

Biden's reversal

Unfortunately, the Biden administration reversed course, implementing radical environmental policies that have crippled American energy production, driven up prices, and left us dependent on foreign nations that do not have our best interests at heart.

From day one, President Biden launched an all-out war on American energy—killing the Keystone XL pipeline, halting new oil and gas leases on federal lands, and implementing regulatory overreach designed to stifle domestic production. His administration’s reckless policies drained our Strategic Petroleum Reserve to dangerous lows, forcing us to rely on foreign adversaries like Venezuela and OPEC while American workers and businesses suffered the consequences.

The result has been soaring gas prices, skyrocketing utility bills, and economic uncertainty. President Biden’s energy failures also caused crippling inflation, making it harder for families to afford the basic necessities of life.

The contrast between the two administrations could not be clearer.

With President Trump back in the White House, we have an opportunity to reverse course and reclaim American energy dominance. House Republicans are already working to roll back Biden’s disastrous policies and implement a bold strategy to unleash domestic production, lower costs, and put American workers first.

Moving forward

Restoring energy independence isn’t just about lowering gas prices — though that’s a critical piece. It’s also about:

  • National Security: When we rely on American energy, we don’t have to beg hostile nations for oil.
  • Economic Growth: A booming energy sector means more jobs, stronger wages, and lower costs across industries.
  • Energy Innovation: American producers lead the world in clean, responsible energy production. Cutting regulations will allow us to develop the next generation of energy technology while maintaining environmental responsibility.

We must unleash the full potential of American energy. That means restarting drilling on federal lands, cutting bureaucratic red tape, investing in all-of-the-above energy solutions, and ensuring that no administration can ever again cripple our energy sector for the sake of radical environmental activism.

The American people have felt the pain of President Biden’s failed policies. Now, we have the chance to right the ship, restore energy independence, and ensure that the United States remains a global leader in energy production and economic strength. The road to prosperity runs through American energy, and President Trump and House Republicans will not stop fighting until we get there.
